Hello, Great album! Though I must admit to favoring live albums over studio ones, if only to find out how well the band delivers their goods, or whether studio magic glues everything together.

Complete Queen live concertography from early 70's until today. QUEEN CONCERTS - Queen live concertography: Live Killers Fulltext search Queen on tour Brian May on tour Roger Taylor on tour The Cross on tour Freddie Mercury on tour John Deacon on tour. Live Killers captures the Queen sound at a time when the beating heart of the band was still hard rock, so I much prefer it to later stuff when Queen went poppy. Robbieboy, Jan 7, 2017 #82.

Queen from what I remember, were not in favor at all of releasing a live album at all. But the record contract stated a live release to be forthcoming, & when you remember how busy a time the late 1970's were for them, perhaps some of the poorer editing completed on Live Killers is realized, as they would have had 3-albums on-the-go, within that space of 12-months.( Live Killers, the movie score to Flash Gordon, & The Game ). Among personal issues too, I believe a new recording deal was in the works, & the band were also looking for a new producer. Live Killers has without doubt cemented itself in Queen history, & will not be discontinued LOL!

But how it's re-issued remains to be discovered for now. I personally hope that it's nothing more than a 'clean-up' of the sound, with cleaner edits brought forth. To release a DVD of the Album completely changes its original intent, & I would rather an individually titled show if this idea takes place. For a great number of years, this record was 'the' live album to have by the band, though I do like many of the modern-day releases made available since Freddie's death, especially the Rainbow '74 shows. A little too-late maybe, but better than not-at-all!

Ciao, Gregster. Click to expand.Hello, It is tunes like 'Hammer to fall' & ' One vision' that cemented the power of Queen as one of the worlds best rock bands in the live arena, during the 1980's IMO. These tunes also kept us die-hard life-long fans in a happy medium with the band, if not totally satisfied.

- ( Confused with some of the new sounds, but glad they haven't lost their roots ). It's wrong IMO to try & place 'Hammer to fall' within the bounds of the 1st-5-albums, as it's a protest song about Nuclear Testing of Atomic Weapons & War, & wouldn't fit in with the thematic imagery intended of the earlier recordings. However, the tune does hold the power & glory of how the band did carry itself once-upon-a-time. A very powerful tune that held me in as a tight Queen fan, at a time when I thought it may be time to find other sources of good rock music.

Hello, Don't forget the limitations of about 18-minutes per-side of playable music on records here. This plays an important part in song-selection, sequence, & editing-in, along with solid performances available back in the 1970's. It's quite possible that if re-released, they may introduce a version like Rhino did with Little Feat's 'Waiting for Colombus', where 'all' of the possible selections are thrown in the mix for finality. I love the fact that the digital world allows this to happen!
