All have that characteristic close-miked rock sound with lots of attack, but the mixer section also allows you to bring in the room mics (mono or stereo) and compression, for a more brash, lively sound. There's also a variable amount of brashness as you bring up the room mics. Experimenting with the compressor fader can also add weight to the sound. Toontrack are correct in saying that the kit is suitable for classic rock as well as modern metal.

The choice of drums offers some noticeably different tonalities, but all are recorded in a way that makes the best of their weight and attack. It's a very versatile expansion kit, well suited to just about any genre of rock from the '70s onwards. I'm really looking forward to using this one!
